Okay, so I finally got back to posting about Disney!
The trip was fun, although "others" (you know who you are) complained about EVERYTHING!
The food sucks, it's too hot/too cold, the kids are driving me crazy, too many people, lines too long, monorail full, boat sucks, bag checkers, strollers wet, etc....
This is why women take vacations alone.........with other women.......because it's quiet.
SO anyway, we spent New Year's Eve in Epcot.
We did plan on that, but later found out Magic Kingdom was closed before 11am...it was full! Some 90,000 people were in that park. I would like to know how they moved around....I guess like a huddle on a football field.
Epcot was great...I love all the countries...and would have really enjoyed the fireworks that night had it not rained while we were inside watching a show. Which meant our strollers were wet...and everything we stored in them! And it was before 6pm!
So we headed back for the hotel....but saw the fireworks the next night...the video is posted already...go see...they were spectacular!
The next day we went to Animal Kingdom. J Girl LOVED it! She was ooh-ing and aahhh-ing throughout the entire park! The safari was awesome....well worth the trip.
And the Tree of Life.....so beautiful...and intricate.
And finally, Magic Kingdom! We saved the best for last...although we did visit for a few hours the first day.
We woke up, and it was COLD! I mean like 50 degrees cold! Of course, since we came from the cold here in Pa, you would think I would have been more prepared...but I was not!
I bought the last three big, black, ugly, knitted hats from the hotel gift shop. I plopped one on each of the kid's and my heads, and covered each up with a blanket in the stroller. I was not missing a day just because it was cold...they could all suck it up....which I promptly said "Shut up and suck it up...you will live!" And off we went!
You would think since it was cold...most would not venture out...but NO...everyone and their brother were in Magic Kingdom that day....ride lines were long, people everywhere. We "fast pass" everything- you put your ticket in a machine and it shoots out a time for you to come back...no wait.
SO we did "It's a Small World" which J Girl hated! (how can a kid hate that ride?) and rode the carousel countless times. We watched Mickey's Philharmonic (which is an awesome 3-D movie) and they hated that too! But they LOVED the castle and all the princesses and characters.
The trip was a success..........I would definitely do it again.......alone.
Here is a pic of J Girl with her black, knit hat on....although this child could make even ugly look cute!
