I will have to head on out and look.....but another blog referenced the Ice Cream Man not long ago (If it's you, and you read, please raise your hand!). You know, the guy who drives around the neighborhood, blaring that awful music, to attract our children to his truck. Then we have to listen to them scream and cry and jump up and down demanding Ice Cream.
Well in our house, from the time the kids were old enough to understand, we have always referenced this man as the "Yucky Man". Yuck! we would say....nothing good on that truck. And what's funny is, they never questioned it.....until today. Around the corner, here he comes. The kids watched a neighbor girl scramble to get home before he turned the corner completely. As he made his way to our house, she was back with money in hand.
Great, I thought to myself as the kids watched with mouths open. Then I turned....and what do I find....Big Daddy heading our way with his wallet. We had been had....made....the kids no longer believe his is "yucky" at all as they watched this man hand the little girl a giant snow cone.
They stood at the side of the truck, quiet as could be, as they politely asked the man for a Dora Popsicle and SpiderMan for the boy. No messing around is what I am sure they were thinking. Don't give any reason for Mommy to say NO. Just wait. Wait it out.
And this is what we got........
Why no pictures of J Girl? Well, at this point, she was too busy chasing her gum ball eyes rolling off the porch.

Too cute!! Visiting over from Mel's at a Box of Chocolates...nice to "meet" ya!! Maybe I should join the Philly bloggers since I don't think there are any Baltimore bloggers?? :) Have a great night!!

We are lucky the ice cream man doesn't come around our development. The "yucky man", I like that I will have to remember that.

It was me!
Now the problem is that whenever someone's cell phone rings, my kids say "ICE CREAM MAN!!!" and race to the front door of my mom's house ;-)

Oh, how I wish we had an ice cream truck come around our house! That is too funny that you were able to trick them for so long.

I think GirlyMama had something last week about an ice cream truck.
My daughter knows what's on the truck... but we have yet to actually buy anything. Someday.

If you simply say you caved in just for the chance at pictures such as these, who could blame you? But now the screaming will begin. :( Fortunately we have not had that problem yet. But Lily sure does love it when we make ice cream at home. I wish we didn't tell her it had a name.

Everything good ends eventually.
Raising hands for In The Trenches of Mommyhood who posted a couple of weeks ago on the ice cream truck and Mommy Cracked gave us an installment of the ghetto ice cream van last week.... they can both be found on my blogroll.
That little boy of yours has the most gorgeous eyes!!!
