I know clicking is hard, so let me lessen the pain. My name is Val and I am Mommy to Chachi (4) and Stinky (2). Wife to Dave. That rather large blob you may see from time to time in the background of some pictures is Chili the Chihuahua. But whatever you do, NEVER make fun of his weight. He is sensitive. We are just the family next door....although our neighbors wish we weren't next door to them!

What's what?

After reading all about the daring adventures of J Boy, I am sure you are going to find this hard to believe.  But, let me tell you, what I am about to say it totally true....ask my Mom m'kay!

Anyway, J Boy (although rambunctious) is terrified by many strange things.  Like squirrels for instance, he is petrified of squirrels.  If he happens to see one, he will run the other way and hide.  Another strange quirk is airplanes.  He can hear an airplane before anyone else and as soon as one comes into view, he's gone...running for the hills.  Same is true regarding motorcycles or dirt bikes.  In real life they are absolutely terrifying to him.

Yet, the boy is obsessed with watching all things airplanes, dirt bikes and motorcycles on YouTube.  We have seen just about every video posted on that site dealing with transportation.

Which brings me to the title of this post.  We were sitting out back at the pool the other night.  I was holding J Boy in my lap wrapped up in a towel after swimming.  The sun was going down and the clouds were darkening.  All of a sudden he looked up, pointed to the sky and said, "What's dat?"

"What's what?" I asked him not understanding what he was pointing to.  As far as I could see there was nothing in the sky.
"Dat, Mommy!  What's dat?" as he pointed again.

"Mommy!  Mommy!" he started to scream as he hid his head.  I thought for sure he just heard an airplane, so I waited.  But, nope.  No airplane.  He lifted his head and once again pointed to the sky and asked, "What's dat?"  Then hid his head again.

Good God, what is this kid talking about?  I don't see anything as I asked him one more time, "What's What?  What do you see?"
"Up in da sky, Up in da sky!" as he pointed again.
"The clouds?" I finally asked.
"Uh-huh!" as he pointed again.

That's when I noticed it.  The clouds were moving.  They were big puffy clouds with light peeking over them.  It really was a beautiful sky.

"They are called clouds," I explained to him, "Clouds move.  Sometimes they move fast enough for us to see."
I don't think I was finished with my sentence before.................

"No Mommy!" as he hid his head again.

See, what did I tell you!  He is afraid of some of the strangest things.  Now we have to add clouds to the list!

Edited to add:  He is no longer afraid of the clouds.  For some reason he loves them now and talks about them incessantly.

Oh, good, I'm glad he got over that fear and loves them. I always loved looking at clouds as a kid - it would be a shame to miss out on something so amazing.

Please tell me you've started a book. So far you have 3 full chapters. Chapter 1: Big Daddy. Chapter 2: J-girl. Chapter 3: J-boy. Then someone will buy the rights and it'll be the next big sitcom. Remember us when you get famous.
