.....or hot dog, as is the case here!
Yesterday evening, like every evening, I was unpacking lunch bags and collecting ice packs. When I got to Chachi's, she still had her entire sandwich left....in all it's soggy glory.
"Chach?" I yelled.
"What?" she asked as she ran into the kitchen.
"Why didn't you eat your sandwich today?"
"I had a hot dog."
"Where did you get the hot dog from?" I questioned.
"Everyone had a hot dog yesterday. It was a surprise." she answered.
"A surprise for what?"
"I don't know." and with that she ran off.
So, this morning, I decided to question the Teacher.
"Ms. Teacher?" I said as I met her at the door, "Chachi informed me that everyone had a hot dog for lunch yesterday."
"Yes, they did."
"Oh. Well, she came home with her sandwich I packed for her and since there wasn't a note sent home I questioned whether it was true or not.
"Did you order her a hot lunch yesterday?" Ms. Teacher asked.
"No. I packed her lunch." I answered.
"Well, only the hot lunch kids got a hot dog yesterday. But, I will get to the bottom of this and let you know."
Fast forward to this afternoon......
Dave met with Ms. Teacher when he picked up Chachi after school.
"Ms Teacher?" he asked, "Did we solve the hot dog mystery?"
"Why, yes we did." she said with slight amusement, "It seems as if the little girl who sits across from Chachi at lunch ordered a hot dog."
"Uh-huh." Dave said following along.
"And, this little girl sets her hot dog down and it seems as if Chachi 'accidentally' ate it."
"What?!?!?!?!"
"Yes. Chachi ate her hot dog."
When I arrived home this evening, Dave filled me in.
Can you believe it! SHE ATE SOME LITTLE GIRL'S HOT DOG! I guess that's where the surprise came in. "SURPRISE! I ATE YOU LUNCH!"
Needless to say, we had a nice long chat regarding taking someone else's lunch. Hopefully, it sank in.
At least today, she ate her sandwich. Either, she learned her lesson, or that little girl didn't have anything good to eat.

That is TOO funny!

ROFLOL! That is absolutley hilarious! I would be curious to find out how Chachi went about taking the hot dog. Did the girl turn her head and look back to see it missing? Or did Chachi just take it from her right in front of her face? Hysterical! You know, I found out years later that most of the time I got sent to my room as a kid was so my parents could laugh about whatever it was I had done.:o)

I love it! Okay, so we should teach our children that it's not nice to take someone else's lunch, but it's a hot dog eat hot dog world out there! (okay, that was really really bad pun) But you gotta admit that it's hilarious that she ate someone else's lunch!
K-man is on a no dairy no soy diet, so at daycare he gets set apart from everyone else so Mr. Sticky Fingers can't take any one else's food that he might be allergic too. Turns out Mr. Sticky Fingers is also related to Stretch Armstrong...he reached out and swiped a little girl's biscuit yesterday at breakfast and crammed the thing in his mouth. All the teachers pounced on him and wrestled it out of his hands and mouth...talk about a ticked off baby!!

Oh my goodness. You're totally raising a bully, taking other people's lunches.
My only question is why on hot dog day? Ick. Next time she oughta wait for pizza day, or chicken nugget day, or corn dog day at the very least.
